Accessibility statement for the infopool
This accessibility statement applies to the infopool website.
This website is run by Prostate Cancer Research. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
Shaw Trust Accessibility Services have advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Prostate Cancer Research is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non accessible content
Non compliance with the accessibility regulations
The testing and diagnosis tool and the treatment tool are powered by software provided by a third party called Stonly. We have no control over their software and are unable to make changes in line with accessibility regulations.
The clinical trial finder is provided by a third party called ancora.ai. We have no control over their software and are unable to make changes in line with accessibility regulations.
Our videos do not contain transcripts. Videos created by Prostate Cancer Research contain either fixed subtitles or auto-generated subtitles which have been checked by a human for accuracy. There are some videos on the website that we have embedded that have been sourced from other organisations, where this is the case we have stated this on the website. These videos may not contain either transcripts or subtitles which have been checked for accuracy.
Some older videos that we created do not have audio descriptions for text. We have instead included written questions on the page which can be read by a screen reader.
We link to PDFs supplied by external organisations at various points across the website. These are outside of our control and thus we are unable to make changes in line with accessibility regulations.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We are working with Shaw Trust Accessibility Services to test our website and content. Their Assessment and Accreditation process is rigorous. Over 60 hours of accessibility testing by users with a disability goes into each and every accreditation. This is in addition to a stringent technical assessment by their digital auditors. All assessments are carried out in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines A and AA criteria.
