Active Surveillance

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Just waiting for my PAS to rise to 15

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Because it saved my life, In 2015 I asked my GP to do a PSA blood test she did not want to do it but I was determined to get it done. I saw a surgeon and he said to me Active Surveillance every six months until my PSA got to 15 then we will have to have a chat

Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

After the operation you are incontinent for up to ten weeks but after that if you do the Pelvic floor excursuses you will be ok, best to start the excursuses before your operation.

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

I was told by the doctor who done my biopsy that if the surgeon ask's you if I would like to have Radiation or Surgery go for surgery because what you have taken out can not come back

How this treatment impacted my life the most

After the treatment I could not get a erection but now a year and a half it is starting to come back, one doctor told me if you don't use it you lose it .One year six months after the treatment I had done I feel good and my PSA is 0.006 undetectable and has been so on every PSA test since my operation

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Because it is better to have it taken out than to worry if it will return.
