Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

Prior to me being diagnosed with prostate cancer, my wife was being treated for ovarian cancer so we obviously did not have an active sex life however I did notice little drops of blood in my pee, the morning after sex. Stupidly, I did not do anything about what I'd seen, as I was more interested, at the time, with trying to help save my wife. My advice now is do not take such signals lightly!

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

I was given female hormones, to reduce the size of the target prior to radiation therapy. This caused itchyness, hot and cold flushes etc but, after the hormone therapy stopped, the side affectes discontinued.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

If I felt the need to pee, I needed to get to a toilet quickly. I found a 'family' at the oncology clinic and when my radiation therapy stopped, I felt kind of lost. The support from the oncology staff was wonderful!

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Any side affects which I experienced while having radiation therapy and hormone therapy were a "walk in the park" when one considers that I have had no treatment whatsoever since the last of my 33 bouts of radiation therapy. I continue with Psa testing and consider myself cured of prostate cancer even though 21 years ago I was advised that surgery was not an option as the cancer had already spread.
