Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

Tips and advice for any bladder or bowel side effects of treatment

When they tell you to do nothing other than lift a kettle for 6 weeks afetr the Surgery, follow that advice. I didn't and was putting up outside Christmas lights after 4 weeks. The result was a blocled uretha that required emergency treatment (and a night on a trolley)!

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

For the first few days after surgery, I had to sit on a rubber ring or curled up towell because I was so bruised. The pain went when the bruising eased. My GP said that he had never seen such bruising!

How this treatment impacted my life the most

The loss of sexual function.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?
