Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

Sex doesn't always have to be about penetration. When I have had an issue with maintaining an rection my wife and I have still both enjoyed the act of making love.

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

The emotional impact of the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer for me was the worse aspect. I eventually sought help and received counselling. The other thing that helped me was helping Macmillan by doing a series of films and interviews, and I also wrote my own blog which I found cathartic.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

I think the emotional side of things had the greatest impact. Everything that happened after treatment had an emotional impact for me. I went from having no problem with for example maintaining an rection to it being hit and miss, the initial incontinence was difficult and although that is not an issue anymore the leaking can be a little upsetting.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

To me it seemed the only logical solution as the cancer was contained within the prostate. Once the prostate was removed the cancer was removed.
