Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

How this treatment impacted my life the most

I guess the dry orgasm is the biggest obvious physical change for me but its just different, possibly better once you get used to it ! ED is the other issue I encountered and still do to a degree. I was lucky as did not suffer badly from incontinence after the Op as I know some have.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

The Op, although major, did not seem that bad looking back on it. Once the catheter was removed after 1 week I soon got back to relative normality. My cancer was found to be contained in the Prostate when they removed it. This was reassuring that the bulk and hopefully all of the cancer had been caught and removed. No further treatment was required. PSA levels instantly dropped to negligible and from there I felt it would be easier to monitor and determine if it did come back. I think the hardest thing to deal with is the anxiety and the worry of what may lie ahead. Being told you have Cancer is a massive deal mentally. I found facebook groups and recognised websites had a wealth of useful information and guidance on how to deal with and cope with a Prostate Cancer diagnosis.
