Hormone Therapy (injections)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

As a result of conformal radiotherapy I suffer from a sluggish bowel and overcome this with a sachet of laxido night and morning every day.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Over 20 years I have completely lost my sex drive but at age 82 that may not be unusual

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

After radiotherapy I continued to have a sex life for the first 10 years. Then my PSA started to rise and my prostate cancer was starting to return. I then had 3 monthly Zoladex injections which put my PSA down to immesurable. After 10 years this treatment was stopped and after a year my PSA is still immesurable, and my testosterone is barely mesurable. However, I have developed osteoporosis and have had to have treament for that. Over the last 20 years I have had a good quality of active life and no incontinance problems
