Hormone Therapy (tablets)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

The psychological effects of hormone treatment are under estimated by the medical professionals, this was made worse by the fact that I had no symptoms of impotence or sexual problems at all. If hormone treatment was described as chemical castration patients would be more prepared for the effects and could seek help from the relevant professionals.

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

Try to talk to a male practitioner who will understand what you are going through, though sympathetic female doctors are as likely to understand as a male doctor does the effects breast cancer.

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

Seek help from professionals earlier rather than later, I had never had any form of depression and was unable to talk to anyone. It is a man thing but the sooner you make contact with a counsellor or your GP the better.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Fatigue and decreasing sexual adequacy led to depression very gradually at first and later extremely.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

No

Why did I give this answer?

Hormone treatment is much more harsh than I expected and affected me in more ways than that I thought it would.
