Radiotherapy

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

Drink lots of water, get as fit as you can without over doing things just walking is fine at a good pace, STAY POSITIVE ALWAYS

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

Not at all bad regarding my outlook as talking to others helped & I maintain talking helps now.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

After surgery I was blown up with air but my gut area remains swollen, I suffered major problems with Hormone therapy after surgery as the cancer was still evident in my PSA, hot sweats remained for 9 months after 4 x 3 month treatments. After 33 treatments of radiotherapy my cancer is still there but under control at 0.11 so I remain positive but under surveillance every 6 months now.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

No

Why did I give this answer?

I go for the hormone therapy & radiotherapy TARGETED at the area where the cancer is. Alas the after effects of radiotherapy are still effecting my way of life 12 months later.
