Active Surveillance

How this treatment impacted my life the most

My diagnosis was at a very early stage, the biopsy showed a positive of 5%, so great relief really, as I half expected I would have it as it was in the family, so persisted with asking for tests. I am in the “active surveillance” category, having PSA tests every 3 months, and recording the results, which can fluctuate slightly. Nevertheless, I am relieved that I was diagnosed so early, as this grows quite slowly, I the future, there could be a time when I need intervention, which may not be too bad.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

At the moment, I do not require any treatment, but in the future, as this is being monitored, it will no doubt reach a stage when treatment is required. Looking at the treatments that are available, I trust that, when that time comes, the specialists will help me chose the best option. Finding this so early, I guess it could be possible that I would have that choice. Certainly not leave it too late, like my Father.
