Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

How this treatment impacted my life the most

The immediate impact was the catheter for several weeks and general tiredness. I also ended back in Hospital three days after the operation due to a problem with my bowels due to a reaction to the anasthetic. I have been philosphical about reduced sexual drive!

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

I figured it was better to remove the prostate and therefore the cancer completely and not wait. I spent time on the phone with two consultants re Removal or Radiotherapy (Covid time) who were very helpful and never pressured me one way or the other I was also very lucky as I had no 'leakage' after the Catheter was removed and that probably is one of the main reasons I would do it again as it was a big concern beforehand

Radiotherapy

How this treatment impacted my life the most

The six weeks of radiotherapy can wear you down a bit. However, it was a 10 minute treatment so it was more about keeping busy leading up to the daily appontment and I was away from home a week at atime

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Becasue my reading was reduced to .001
