Hormone Therapy (tablets)

Tips and advice for any bladder or bowel side effects of treatment

Besides tablets, I have a three monthly injection. I am also a participant in a Clinical Trial (Capitello). That involves a drug/placebo. A double blind trial. Of course I don’t know which of these may be causing the diarroeah, but my logs of those occasions, shared with my Oncology team, show this only occurs when I am on the Trials Drug for four days, then three days off it, in any given week. Into my 8’th cycle now (monthly).

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

I have not been able to manage this since starting my treatments.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

I have to drive 22 miles to the hospital every month, and then for four monthly Scans. This is quite exhausting.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Because the combination of these drugs, aimed at shutting down my prostate, which is metastatic, has shown in my bloods a reduction of PSA from 101 in early February, to the current 0.5. ADT appears to be working.
