I had bladder infections for about 5 months, with catheter fitted and removed on several occasions. You learn very quickly to live with it.

With the understanding of wife or partner following discussion, it becomes easier, important to show the same affection to your partner as before.

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

I am naturally an emotional person, but following and during could become very emotional, this has improved to what is normal. Make sure you exercise every day this was important to me and I’m sure made me feel better.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

The treatment was difficult taking about 4hrs out of a day, symptoms showing about 1 hr after treatment and having to pee with little control. When treatment had complete I blocked up and had to have catheter fitted, this created bladder infections for 5 months but eventually cleared, uncomfortable and a relief when catheter removed for last time, felt well since and improving all the time.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Well although uncomfortable there was little invasion surgery other than the investigation of prostate
