Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

If I had been diagnosed earlier the cancer MAY NOT have spread to my seminal glands which MAY have allowed me to keep them and retain the ability for wet orgasms - but I am not a doctor and do not know this for sure. Erectile Disfunction is an ongoing issue and a frustration as the sexual desire is still strong but the ability to have an erection not always possible. Using sidenifil (Viagra) works every time - but when to take to fit in with the moment can be difficult to plan.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

My ability to have sex as and when has gone - which is a big part of my relationship. The ability to wet orgasm has gone, which gives some frustration. I have to pre plan sex now with my wife - which is not ideal to say the least.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

I knew immediately that I wanted the cancer cutting out of me to get rid of it. That was the right decision then and would be again now. It was 10 years ago now. I knew if would leave me with issues to deal with - which I have and continue to do so. But it IS frustrating at times.
