How this treatment impacted my life the most
First off I never rushed or panicked following diagnosis. I did my research and had three consultations and opted for bi lateral HIFU treatment. It was sequential with a nine month gap between treatments. (The radical treatments on offer seemed over zealous in my opinion). Physically the High Intensity Frequency Ultrasound (HIFU) treatment has had very little affect on my life. Its non evasive and my recovery was very quick with minimal side affects. Personally I found the psychological side of things more difficult to contend with.
Why did I give this answer?
I would not hesitate in recommending HIFU if the personal circumstance allow. Its important to understand that not every case is suitable. I consider myself to be very fortunate that I had early diagnosis via health screening and the benefit of private health cover.
